Potential is distributed equally. Opportunity is not.

Giving Values

What we can accomplish globally begins with what we can do locally. We focus on communities and respond in times of greatest need.

Potential is distributed equally. Opportunity is not. We look for ways to bolster opportunities for people.

We look for ideas that bring the best strategic thinking to address complex problems and demonstrate long-term potential and clear measurable outcomes.

The NCR Foundation is a catalyst of opportunity and change. We leverage our talents and resources to better our communities around the world.
We are committed to donating $15 million over the next five years to help our nonprofit partners achieve a real and lasting impact.

Areas of focus

Over the decades, the NCR Foundation has supported civic causes, health and human services, arts and culture, and education. Today our grantmaking is directed to three key areas where we believe we can have the greatest impact -- STEM education, economic development and disaster response.

STEM Education

We are relentlessly focused on STEM education for students, particularly in underserved communities.

Economic Development

Our efforts to provide opportunity in under-served communities include funding financial empowerment and inclusion opportunities, fostering job creation and training for sustainable income and supporting micro-enterprise.

Disaster Response

From natural disasters to the COVID pandemic, we step up in times of crisis.

Our impact

NCR has long been committed to serving communities, from converting our factories to build rescue boats in the 1913 Great Dayton Flood to 2021, when we provided COVID relief support and 100,000 vaccinations in India and the Philippines.

The NCR Foundation’s investments in causes worldwide align with NCR’s ESG values. How we give is just as important as how we innovate.

2021 Investments Created Opportunities for 70,000+ People

toward STEM education

toward economic development

toward disaster response

Our work is consistently expanding. We have funded projects in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Israel, Japan, Philippines, Serbia, UK and US. See our work in action:

Global Investments

Through organizations like Liga Solidária in Brazil and the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation in Serbia, we have helped youth and adults build a better future through STEM education initiatives, such as free coding and programming workshops and the development of Maker Lab Spaces equipped for teaching hands-on design thinking skills.

Westside Future Fund in Atlanta

This five-year partnership and $1 million investment pairs NCR with Georgia Tech, a renowned research university, to help the Westside Future Fund give underserved students access to STEM technology education at Westside Atlanta’s Hollis Innovation Academy.

Junior Achievement 3DE in Georgia

NCR Foundation is a sponsor of Junior Achievement in Georgia and its innovative 3DE School program, which re-engineers high school education to be more relevant, experiential and authentically connected to the complexities of the real world to prepare today’s students for the demands of tomorrow’s economy. In 2020-2021 we supported the launch of four additional schools in Georgia.

InspiredU: Remote Learning During the Pandemic

Amidst the pandemic and school closings, not all students had access to the technology they needed to learn remotely. As a partner of Inspiredu, NCR Foundation had donated 2,000 PCs for students over the previous five years. We were able to quickly help Inspiredu upgrade their VOIP network in partnership with other technology companies so Inspiredu could better meet the demand for technology—today and tomorrow.

NCR Foundation grant strategy

Our strategy is to partner with nonprofit organizations to maximize impact and make a difference in our communities. We invest in organizations that align with our causes and values in the U.S. and globally.

Grant limitations

All grantees must be charitable, nonprofit organizations that are classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The NCR Foundation proactively identifies potential recipients whose mission and programs align with its strategy and no longer accepts unsolicited grant applications.

The NCR Foundation does not support, nor are grants used in connection with:

• Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, gender/gender identity, national origin, religion, disability, medical condition, marital status, sexual orientation, veteran or military status, pregnancy, ancestry, age or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, county or local laws, regulations or ordinances.

• Fundraising or benefit events (e.g., dinners and athletic outings)

• Grants to individuals or for the benefit of pre-selected individuals
