Even before the pandemic, financial institutions were starting to move their platforms to the cloud. Indeed, according to Toolbox, 19 of the 20 major U.S. banks have announced public cloud initiatives.

Digital transformation has accelerated during the pandemic and FIs are still working to innovate to keep up with the pace. APIs, and the technology that they enable, can provide the shortcut that they need.

In a digital-first world, FIs need to innovate not just to meet their customers’ digital demands, but for their staff, too. And that’s not always easy with siloed technology that’s not agile. But there are ways to make innovating much easier—like adopting APIs.
