With proper handling, you can extend the life of our lithium-ion battery.
The most influential factors in the aging process of a lithium ion battery are, first, the charging cycles and, second, the temperatures to which the battery is subjected. It functions on the principle of the movement of ions (i.e. electrically charged atoms) between the positive and the negative electrode. This movement causes the battery to age and thus its performance decreases over time, like the battery of a mobile phone.
With normal use, we recommend replacing the battery of Orderman handhelds every 2 to 3 years to ensure proper operation.
To ensure that your lithium-ion battery ages as slowly as possible, we have prepared the following care instructions for you:
1. Store your battery at room temperature (20-25°C). The worst thing that can happen to a lithium-ion battery is for it to be exposed to elevated temperatures in a fully charged state. Heat is by far the most significant factor in reducing the service life of a battery.
2. Unused replacement batteries also age. All batteries age over time, regardless of whether or not you use them. For this reason it is not worthwhile to buy in bulk and stock up, since unused batteries last just as long as those that are used daily.
3. Do not store battery packs fully charged. Avoid "continuous charging" and use replacement batteries which are stored in the charging station regularly.
