Technology Association of Georgia Recognizes NCR as a Top 10 Innovative Company

Consumer transaction technologies leader joins prestigious list of companies leading a tech evolution in Georgia

DULUTH, GA – April 10, 2014 – NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), announced today it is a recipient of  the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) "Top 10" Award, as one of Georgia's 10 most innovative technology companies. TAG is the state's leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia's technology industry.

The “Top 10” most innovative technology companies are chosen from among TAG’s "Top 40" 2014 list and were chosen based on a number of criteria, including: degree of innovation; scope and financial impact of innovation; likelihood of success; and promotion of Georgia's innovative efforts nationally and internationally.

“The Top 10 Awards are given to an elite group of companies whose products and solutions are not only changing their respective industries, they are also putting Georgia on the map as a state where technology innovation can thrive,”  said Tino Mantella, president and CEO of TAG.  “We applaud each of these companies for standing out as leaders in Georgia’s technology community and being showcased as such at our annual Georgia Technology Summit.”

NCR was recognized for its innovation in designing and developing its innovative NCR Mobile Pay solution in the state of Georgia. NCR Mobile Pay enables consumers to take action instead of waiting. Restaurant patrons can easily review an order, add to it, tip and pay, and take a survey – all directly from their smartphone. NCR Mobile Pay transforms the guest experience while also improving order accuracy, increasing speed of service and reducing the potential of credit card fraud for restaurant operators.

“The competition for Top 10 recognition was particularly fierce this year,” said Dennis Zakas, a partner and founder of Zakas & Leaonard, LLP, Chair of Group Office Buys, LLC, and chairperson of the Top 40 Selection Committee.  “The Top 10 demonstrate the depth and breadth of Georgia’s technology community.  We are pleased to recognize this group of companies and believe that the community will be just as impressed as we are by their innovation and impact on Georgia’s technology industry.”

”Our goal is to make everyday transactions easier for our customers and consumers,” says Kim Eaton, president, NCR Hospitality.  ”This prestigious award from the Technology Association of Georgia recognizes the important work that NCR’s employees do every day on behalf of our customers, helping them innovate and deliver exceptional banking, shopping, traveling and dining experiences.”
