What they needed

On-time payments & better payroll tracking

County of Lehigh is located in southeastern Pennsylvania, in the area of Lehigh Valley where Allentown, the city put on the map by singer Billy Joel, is the county seat. First settled in 1730, it has a population of nearly 350,000 people and is one of Pennsylvania’s fastest growing counties. County of Lehigh boasts a thriving arts scene, theme parks, festivals and a premier bicycle racing track. But the county needed to increase automation and boost efficiency to address late payments and payroll issues. For citizens, paying real estate taxes and court fines had to be done in person, which meant traveling, paying to park, going through security and often waiting in lines. For employees, the only way they could get a paystub was to come in person, which put a strain on administrative staff who were already feeling the burden of filing taxes in a timely manner.

What we delivered

An online portal & digital employee self-service

NCR Payment Solutions expanded their existing NCR payroll system to include a new digital employee self-service payroll solution. And NCR Government Payments, an integrated payment solution customized for government agencies, delivered an online constituent portal that accepts online payments and has the flexibility to easily add new payment types as new needs arise.

More on-time payments & easy payroll

With the ability to make online payments, County of Lehigh residents can now conveniently pay their real estate taxes and court payments (fines, etc.) online, which has increased on-time payments. And employees can now view their paystubs online, which saves them time and reduces the administrative hassle of having to locate missing checks and paystubs. Also, with NCR processing their taxes, their administrative staff is saving time. Best of all, they now have the flexible system they need to easily add new types of payments as needed, helping this fast growing county grow even faster.
