Edward Gallagher

SVP, General Counsel and Secretary

Edward Gallagher is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of NCR Corporation. Since joining NCR in 1992, Ed has served in a number of leadership positions, including head of the company’s Litigation & Employment Law Group, Chief Counsel for the Systemedia Division and Chief Counsel of the Year 2000 Group.

His experience includes management and trial of cases in a broad range of commercial and product liability matters, internal investigations both domestic and international, M&A transactions, commercial transactions and the management of responses to government inquiries. He is also responsible for the legal aspects of the company’s SEC disclosures and filings, and for the company’s Ethics & Compliance Group.

Ed is a member of the California bar, and worked in private practice in Boston and San Francisco before joining NCR. A graduate of Yale Law School, Ed also holds a master’s degree in international relations from Yale.  He serves on the Board of Dayton History.

According to the PYMNTS.com Global Fraud Attack Index, which measures fraud attempts against online merchants in the US, the rate of attacks grew by 62 percent between Q3 2015 and Q2 2016. The proportion of revenue at risk rose by 55 percent, from $4.90 of every $100 in sales to $7.60 in every $100.
