Covered Electronic Devices
The following video display devices containing a screen greater than four inches, measured diagonally, are considered to be Covered Electronic Devices under the Act:

 

  • Cathode ray tube-containing devices (CRT devices)
 
  • Cathode ray tubes (CRTs)
 
  • Computer monitors containing cathode ray tubes
 
  • Laptop computers with liquid crystal display (LCD) screens LCD-containing desktop monitors
 
  • Televisions containing cathode ray tube
 
  • Televisions containing LCD screens
  •  

  • Plasma televisions
  •  

 

Covered Electronic Waste Recycling Fee
Covered Electronic Devices sold in California are subject to recycling fees in the following amounts:

 

Three dollars ($3) for each Covered Electronic Device with a screen size of less than 15 inches, measured diagonally.

 

Four dollars ($4) for each Covered Electronic Device with a screen size greater than or equal to 15 inches but less than 35 inches, measured diagonally.

 

Five dollars ($5) for each Covered Electronic Device with a screen size greater than or equal to 35 inches, measured diagonally.

 

Retailer Notice
Resellers of certain NCR products may be required to charge this fee to their customers and remit the fee to the State of California. You are responsible for understanding SB-20, as amended by SB-50, and complying with the Act to the extent it is applicable to you. NCR will not collect and remit the fee on behalf of resellers of NCR products.
