The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is now in full effect, but there’s no need to panic.
Since we were founded, NCR Silver has always been committed to protecting the confidentiality and integrity of your personal data that we process in connection with the provision of our products and services. That’s why we’ve recently taken even more reasonable and appropriate steps to further safeguard your personal data in accordance with the applicable laws of the countries in which we conduct business.
Since we know you’re busy running your business, we’ve summarized some of the extra measures we’ve taken to secure your personal data. These changes take effect today for existing and prospective customers not just in Europe, but worldwide. Here’s what’s new:
Our goal is to be even more transparent with you as to the purposes of data collection, whether providing the information is voluntary and what the possible consequences are if you chose not to do so.
Going forward, we will retain your personal data only for so long as it is necessary to support the overall purpose(s) for which we collected such information, plus any further period as may be required or reasonably necessary for record keeping, analysis or to meet legal or regulatory requirements. This includes:
Sales and Marketing – We may use your personal data to contact you for feedback in customer satisfaction surveys or for market research purposes, providing you with marketing literature on products and services, notifying you of events, and providing you with information about NCR.
Business Transactions – We may use your personal data to fulfill business transaction requests with you or your organization. Such requests may include, delivering notifications of product issues, fixes or updates, or contacting you in response to your questions, comments, or requests.
Transfers and data sharing
It is our practice to enter into contracts with our suppliers and service providers that require them to handle your information in a manner consistent with NCR policy and applicable law. We may share personal data within NCR, and we may share with third-party suppliers and service providers, such as integrated payroll and loyalty providers.
In short, we take data security seriously. We’ll only be collecting data that is absolutely necessary to provide our services and we’re giving you clear options to opt out at every turn. You can rest assured that we’re doing everything possible to protect your personal information.
