AN INTERVIEW WITH

Athy Delinikolis

Executive Director, Global Client Operations – Retail, joined NCR in 2013

Tell us a little about your career journey. What do you love most about your current role?

I started as a program manager in Transaction Services - Project Management Office running a Retail organization. Since then, I've transitioned into more than five new roles, before I took my current position as an executive director, Global Client Operations–Retail.

I have an amazing team, truly dedicated to transforming, connecting and running not only our customers' businesses but transforming NCR as an organization.

“I have an amazing team, truly dedicated to transforming, connecting and running not only our customers' businesses but transforming NCR as an organization.”

How did you hear about NCR? What made you consider joining the team?

I was working with IBM when we started a joint project with NCR – the first self-service checkout rollout for Coles Supermarkets in Australia. I then joined NCR and got a great opportunity to be part of something totally new as the retail program for Transaction Services was just starting and growing in Australia.

How did career development opportunities help you grow professionally, personally or both during your time at NCR?

Each role that I've taken within NCR enabled me to grow my skills and my network of contacts across all regions, teams and major customer accounts. NCR has also supported me to further my education where most recently I have completed my MBA.

I've been lucky to have amazing managers and mentors in leadership roles who have continued to provide me with guidance, support and an ear to listen.

Of course, each role brings new responsibilities, especially when you are a manager yourself. I am very proud that I was able to help my team members to grow their careers as well.

“Each role that I've taken within NCR enabled me to grow my skills and my network of contacts across all regions, teams and major customer accounts.”

How do you stay consistently challenged to thrive both personally and professionally?

I continue to set goals that not only allow me to grow but make a difference to my team around me, my amazing family and my Women in NCR (WIN) network that we have created locally. I believe continuous education is what enables me to grow and drive change within my career and organization. I have developed my brand to lead by example and ensure that I focus on delivering my word.

“I believe continuous education is what enables me to grow and drive change within my career and organization.”

What are you excited about learning next and is there a long-term challenge you are considering tackling?

I am excited to continue getting to know more about our customers in different regions to deliver NCR excellence.

Also, I do have a bucket list and my next challenges are more from a physical fitness side where I am looking to compete in kickboxing and complete a marathon. I'll align these events to local charities as I am focused on giving back to the community that supports my family and me.

“I am excited to continue getting to know more about our customers in different regions to deliver NCR excellence.”

How are you helping NCR to transform, connect and run the business in your role?

Our culture of diversity, inclusion, the ability to listen and constantly learn and grow - all these determine how I deliver my role and how we as a team show up and serve our customers daily.
