The Advanced Post Self-Service client is designed for self-service applications, in which the end user or customer directly interacts with the system. The self-service client features a configurable user interface (UI) which addresses the unique interface requirements that self-service solutions necessitate.
The Advanced Post self-service client UI provides instructional animations and videos to allow users to immediately begin performing transactions without any prior experience with the solution. The NCR Advanced Post self-service mode can operate in a number of different deployment scenarios:
- The kiosk or self-service device can be a stand-alone kiosk
- It can be a classified as a member of an Advanced Post “store”, which consolidates the self-service data with other systems at the store.
- In addition, self-service-only post offices are supported, with no limit as to the number of kiosks per location.
The Advanced Post self-service client supports weighing and rating, and the generation of variable rate postage. The system also supports the scanning and selling of products, and printing of electronic postage on-demand. In addition, the solution can issue stamp sheetlets from a self-service dispenser (either bunch or spray-type dispensers). Advanced Post Self-Service also includes back-office and management modes, and supports auto-close and re-opening.
Traditionally, the Advanced Post Self-Service client runs on dedicated self-service kiosks; however, the client can also run on a standard POS Terminal by simply turning the clerk monitor around to face the customer – a “convertible solution.”
