NCR Advanced Post is a single, modular software application that supports multiple deployment scenarios. The software architecture is designed to decouple the business objects from the other architecture components, with communication taking place via Web and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards. Business objects are located wherever they are needed, providing tremendous flexibility in systems deployment.
Business objects can be deployed:
- As a Full Client with functionality locally executed at each post office
- As a Hybrid solution where some business functions reside in the local post office and others reside in the central system
- As a Full Web-based Centralized System with all functionality accessed from a Web browser
Busy retail post offices require a counter system that is high performance, highly available, and can operate when offline. The NCR Advanced Post Full Client architecture provides full Back Office and Front Office functionality locally, with high availability of system operations, off-line functionality and limited disruption of operations and customer services when the network is down.
NCR Advanced Post uses a customizable, graphically rich user interface (UI), designed by NCR Human Factors Engineers and validated via extensive usability studies. Advanced Post UIs are easily navigable, minimize the training needed and the likelihood of user errors, provide a clear method of correcting errors, and reduce the need for rote memorization.
