NCR consumer research suggests that airports prepared to look beyond the traditional shopping and dining facilities to generate new revenues may be pleasantly surprised at what travelers say they would patronize.
Close to half of those polled said they would visit exhibitions (of history science or culture, for example) while more than a quarter would visit an onsite art gallery and 16 percent would take advantage of spa or massage facilities.
No less than 93 percent of passengers have a mobile device of some sort, and 60 percent say they would be likely to redeem coupons for a meal, coffee, spa treatment or other airport services if they were delivered to their cell phone (or other mobile device) while at the airport.
