NCR launches casino portfolio at international show

New NCR self-service portfolio to help casino operators reduce costs and improve customer service levels

LONDON – NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) is today launching its portfolio of cross-property self-service solutions for the casino industry at the International Gaming Exhibition in London on 27-29 January 2009 on stand #4322.

The world leader in self-service technologies, NCR offers solutions spanning casinos’ financial services, hotel, dining, retail and property operations. These solutions help casinos deliver high quality services to guests quickly, decrease operational costs and increase revenues.

Scott Winzeler, NCR’s vice president for marketing for gaming, commented, “NCR is uniquely able to provide a holistic approach to the gaming environment – from the hotel to the casino floor to the buffet - for a seamless and consistent experience. A guest might check in to a gaming resort using a self-service kiosk, locate a favorite Blackjack or Roulette table using an interactive wayfinding device, or purchase tickets to a live show by waving a mobile device in front of a digital poster.”

The global leader in ATMs for consecutive 22 years, NCR is now bringing ATMs that deliver banking-grade levels of reliability to the casino environment. NCR's highly secure ATM/TITO and jackpot solutions are designed to reduce cash reserve requirements, limit exposure to fraud, increase cash management, streamline ticket redemption and increase labour productivity.

NCR solutions also let casino guests enjoy the convenience of self-service while staying on the property. NCR self-service check-in kiosks allow hotel guests to bypass the front desk by automating a number of transactions, including confirming reservations, encoding, validating and dispensing room keys and printing guest folios. Self-service check-in also drives revenue through upselling hotel amenities, such as room upgrades or special restaurant and gift offers.

NCR's self-service solutions improve the dining experience for casino guests, as well as improve restaurant operations. For example, NCR order and pay kiosks allow diners to place orders and pay for food without staff assistance, shortening lines and speeding service. Customers can also complete orders in their language of choice. Complementing this, NCR’s retail point-of-sale solutions are designed to enhance the shopping experience in the property’s gift and specialty shops. They also improve operational efficiency, simplify servicing and protect casinos’ investment over the long term.

NCR also offers dynamic and interactive wayfinding and digital signage solutions that help guests navigate large and complex properties like a gaming resort. This is in addition to solutions that allow guests and employees to digitally download movies.

NCR hardware maintenance services leverage the global reach, infrastructure and skills of NCR service personnel currently supporting other cash handling technologies including ATMs, self-service cash recyclers and self check-outs. Remote hardware performance reporting and powerful data mining tools provide the ability to send the right technician, with the right part at the right time, resulting in higher device availability.

Winzeler concluded, “Because NCR works with category leaders in travel, financial, hospitality and retail, we’ve got our finger on the pulse of industry trends and best practices. We’re excited about working with casinos to apply those key learnings, developing new and innovative solutions, addressing their gaming needs now and into the future.”
