NCR Expands Leadership in China Market with Orders for 6,000 ATMs from Top Five Banks

 

BEIJING ― NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) today announced that it has secured orders for approximately 6,000 automated teller machines (ATMs) from China’s  top five commercial banks (Agricultural Bank of China,  Bank of China, Bank of Communications, China Construction Bank and Industrial & Commercial Bank of China ), continuing its leadership of China’s ATM market.

“This order demonstrates how NCR continues to execute its business strategy by expanding our core financial services business in promising geographic regions like China,” said Patrick Chou, president of NCR North Asia.  “Our leadership in this market reflects NCR’s ability to provide innovative solutions that help financial institutions transform their businesses and provide their customers with easy, convenient ways to interact.”

NCR won the largest share of the purchase orders from the bank of Communications and the Industrial Commercial Bank of China.  In addition to orders from China’s top five major banks, NCR also achieved positive results from small- and medium-sized commercial banks.

According to the latest report from Retail Banking Research (RBR) – “Global ATM Market and Forecasts to 2013” – NCR is the largest ATM manufacturer in China and globally, as of the end of 2007.  With these most recent orders from China’s banks in 2008, NCR continues to maintain its market leadership position in China.  RBR forecasts the China ATM marketwill continue double-digit growth from 2008 to 2013.
