Marine Corps Community Services improves customer service, efficiency with point-of-sale software from NCR

Retail solution expands functionality, reduces transaction times at 270+ Marine Corps Exchange retail and service store sites

DULUTH, Georgia – Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) awarded a one-year contract with nine one-year renewal options to NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) for the deployment, installation, integration and maintenance of a new point-of-sale solution in its retail and service store locations throughout the US and Japan. 

MCCS is replacing its legacy system with NCR Advanced Store software, designed to improve the customer experience by reducing transaction processing times and integrate with NCR partner-provided solutions to expand loyalty program and promotional capabilities to all MCCS points of service, including the fuel pump and quick-service food counter.

NCR Advanced Store offers a range of pricing and promotion options from simple “buy one get one” offers to more sophisticated “picnic basket” promotions that enable discounts on the purchase of several different item groups.  Beyond delivering external benefits like speedier checkout and more relevant customer offers, NCR Advanced Store will help streamline and improve MCCS’s internal processes through more flexible reporting capabilities and Web-based employee training.

MCCS awarded the contract to NCR following standard non-appropriated fund competitive negotiation procedures.
