Leveraging in-store Wireless Networks

We are in the midst of A Wireless revolution

Since the first cell phones hit the market some three decades ago, we’ve seen quantum leaps in mobile technology, along with a fundamental shift in the way people communicate.

The always-connected audience now prefers to communicate in new and instantaneous ways with voice often the least preferred method. Social networking, web browsing and video streaming are now the norm. Many consumers “check-in” at retail locations, research product reviews and even brag online to their friends and family about their purchases in real-time.

During the 2011 holiday season, more than half of adult cell phone owners used their device to seek help with purchasing decisions while they were in a store, as reported in a study conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International (PSRAI). Among those surveyed, 24 percent specifically use their phone to look up reviews of a product online while in a store.
