NCR believes it is time for a new standard level of safe security. Criminals are becoming even more determined and resourceful in their physical attacks on ATMs. That’s why NCR’s new CEN 1 safe, developed in direct response to today’s threats and specifically designed to combat thermal (oxy-acetylene) and grinding attacks, represents a major step forward for the industry. Delivering increased physical security levels, the NCR CEN 1 safe brings you a higher foundation-level security, helping to protect the trust your customers place in you, minimize collateral damage and defend your cash by making the criminal’s life more difficult.

Designed to be more robust than the CEN L industry standard
Maintaining the same footprint as the NCR CEN L safe, the NCR CEN 1 safe is substantially more robust than the CEN L industry standard. The new NCR CEN 1 safe boasts a tough 1.57” (40mm) composite steel and concrete construction. The door and walls are both made from a sandwich of steel filled with concrete, making them significantly more resistant to today’s common types of physical attack. Independent tests have shown that an NCR CEN 1 safe takes at least three times longer to break into using commonly used attacks than a UL 291 safe, or a CEN L safe that has a steel body. Though the NCR CEN L safe had a door and body constructed of tough, resistant composite, the CEN L standard actually allows for a body made of steel.
